High-Performance Composite 3D Printer

A modified nano3Dprint A2200 Multimaterials printer and new slicer software enable printing of high-performance composite parts including embedded electronics.  By directly 3D printing Carbon composites the parts no longer require molds or conformal surfaces.  Instead, new 3D space filling composite architectures become possible maximizing the performance of the part while being competitive in speed and cost of manufacture compared to traditional composite part manufacturing techniques.  The multimaterials approach also provides for incorporation of functional and electronic elements directly into the part so that the structural composite part is also the sensing, functional and electronic part.
